High profile merger against the backdrop of significant change in the cyber and growth market sector.


To understand all of their people and their natural strengths and to inform them on how they are feeling about their roles. They wanted a solution where they could collectively optimise their people asset while giving back to all employees at a time of significant change and uncertainty.


Through the HUNT phase we uncovered and identified the major themes and challenges:

  • Concerns with low engagement
  • The unification process of bringing humans together from different businesses
  • The need for an informative and scientific capability mapping tool
  • To provide a foundation to build sustainable culture and an EVP
  • To help inform the capability and risk associated with growth in new products and markets


With participation across the UNDERSTAND channel of between 88 - 92% at a time of great disruption, the client was incredibly pleased.

  • The group Motivation/engagement (ME) index was higher than expected, however there was a marked correlation between the overarching theme of talent across the whole business and the lowest ranking ME question
  • The insights gleaned in relation to unification, primarily through the qualitative data, were also valuable providing evidentiary support in relation to their concern of an 'us and them' mentality.
  • The resulting capability map and strengths composition was of immediate use to the customer in looking back and looking forward, with deep and meaningful insights into all of their people - how they think, feel and behave.
  • With a common language established and the resulting positive impact on the business they now have the basis to build a culture of strengths and an EVP that will resonate with all, including new joiners.
  • As the company starts building new product lines and moves into new geographies they can draw on those in the business ready to step up while building the optimal teams from the strengths within.
